ABOUT
"I am a compassionate person, a life-long student, refugee, woman, daughter, wife, mother who can relate to you. Together with my extensive training, I believe I can help you overcome your struggles."
I have 15 years of experience in the mental health field working in various roles as clinical psychologist, rehabilitation specialist, certified therapeutic recreation specialist, assistant professor, instructor, and youth counselor. I have worked with numerous individuals, groups, families ranging in age from adolescent to adult with diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds in many settings include hospital, long term care facility, community mental health services, university counseling center, juvenile detention center, and adult correctional health care facility.
I have helped patients with dual mental health and substance abuse issues as well as patients who had developmental disabilities. I provided couple and group therapy during my years of training as a clinical psychologist with an emphasis on advocacy and social justice. I have served as a cultural consultant for my colleagues in all of the above settings. I had the privilege to work with individuals in clinical and research settings who experienced tremendous stress and adversities related to their refugee status, trauma, and immigration issues. I have learned from the amazing people I cared for and expanded my experience through them over the years.
